Yesterday was Earth Day and the Science March in Atlanta’s Freedom Park. Scientists are getting more involved in politics, myself included<\/a>, since the shit hit the fan with the last election and the ushering in of a bunch of science and climate change denialists. The funny thing is that these dudes running around the White House don’t see the logic fail of expecting sophisticated medicine to get their wives and mistresses out of the breast cancer dog house or letting them get crucial plastic surgery to keep the aging demon at bay, while in other areas denying information derived from science when it hurts their pocket books. Like, let’s keep that global warming talk out of our Oklahoma oil fields, okay? We live a long ways from the ocean anyway. Forget about the 500 unexplained earthquakes we had last year.<\/p>\n
